Grand Union in Alperton is getting in the festive spirit with a magical Christmas light switch-on taking place on Thursday 30th November from 5pm until 7pm.
The lights will be switched on at 5pm sharp by Mayor of Brent, Cllr Orleen Hylton, who will be joined by a fantastic band and choirs from Alperton Community School and Lyon Park Primary singing all your favourite Christmas classics. For those already thinking about what to get your loved ones this festive season, local businesses will be selling the perfect stocking fillers from the Grand Union Community Hub, including candles, jewellery, Goan Christmas sweets and children's toys.
Cocktails, mocktails and other beverages will be available from the Community Hub to get you rocking around the Christmas tree as well as complimentary hot chocolate and mulled wine for our first guests to arrive from Crepes + Coffee at PAVO in the heart of the piazza.
The funds raised on the day will go towards the Grand Union Development Trust, which provides community leadership at Grand Union, arranges community events and manages the Community Hub.
The Grand Union canalside neighbourhood is located on Beresford Avenue in Alperton. It is accessible by public transport via Stonebridge Park and Alperton stations, which offer direct links from Central London via the Overground & Bakerloo line, and Piccadilly line, respectively.
