At the annual Great British Pub Awards, London took home two of the top prizes.
The Great British Pub Awards celebrate Britain's historic pub industry in a variety of categories, going through hundreds of entries before coming up with a shortlist for the annual awards ceremony. The latter was held at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on 17 September, with six finalists in each of 16 categories battling it out for the coveted title.
In good news for London pubgoers, the city came away with two awards this year – no mean feat considering the nationwide competition. The Trafalgar Tavern, a stunning Grade I-listed venue in Greenwich, was named Best Pub for Entertainment, while The Pig's Head, Clapham's first carbon-neutral pub, won Best Sustainable Pub.
