Sandra Bello and Erik “Smokey” Bautista of Homies on Donkeys have run their final service five-and-a-half years after opening.
The indoor kitchen in Walthamstow’s Wood Street Market, which sat just eight people, is set to ramp up in 2023, with the restaurant duo searching for a new and bigger site where they can operate for dinner, something which they weren’t able to do in their original location.
The new spot will keep the feel of an authentic taqueria where you come to hang with friends but will level it up in size, meaning more will be able to enjoy all that they offer without restriction.
Their menu is chock full of Mexican classics, like a range of tacos, like cochinito in chipotle and juicy king prawn and fully-loaded nachos topped with guacamole, pico de gallo and refried beans.
