London sticks 5 restos among the Good Food Guide’s Top 20, but isn’t as exciting as Brum

It seems fair to say that in general, London is regarded as more exciting than many cities in the world, much less in the UK. It has parks and a river and more parks! And a creatively named clock tower! And have you seen those silly big buses?! Thrilling stuff all around. According to this year’s Good Food Guide, however, foodies will have to reconsider their worldview, as the capital has been pipped by none other than Birmingham for the title of Most Exciting Food Destination in the UK.

Yes, the first Good Food Guide to be published since the pandemic has declared good old Birmingham as the place to be if you’re a true-hearted foodie. It’s time to pack up your bags and leave London’s beleaguered kitchens for greener northern pastures.
