The India Club has been a fixture of London's dining scene for over 50 years, with decor that has barely changed in that time and prices that hark back to more affordable times too. In sad news for Indian food fans around the capital, the restaurant has announced that it will be closing on 17th September.

For more than half a century the restaurant has been a hit with London's Indian community, as well as other residents and visitors to the city. For over 25 years, three generations of the same family have been running The India Club. Now, after an ongoing battle with the landlord of the building it occupies, the restaurant will be shutting up shop next month. This follows a crowdfunding campaign launched in 2021 to help the restaurant pay legal fees after it was given notice to vacate the premises.

The restaurant's closure really is the end of an era, so get down before 17th September for one last taste of the affordable and authentic food on offer here.
