After several years of planning and construction, the revamped Lee Valley Ice Centre is ready to open, just in time to help battle the summer heat.

Replacing the old Lee Valley Ice Centre, which closed in 2021 after 37 years of operation, the new facility is the only one of its kind in South East England, featuring one of only three Olympic-sized twin rinks in the entire country. In addition to its increased capacity, the venue will serve as a community hub, offering an array of leisure facilities, including a café, a gym, exercise studios, community spaces, and spectator seating. The latter will come in especially handy when the centre hosts home games by the Lee Valley Lions ice hockey team, along with other events.

The new centre was designed with sustainability in mind and aims to attract half a million visitors per year. Different skating lessons and courses will be available for all ages and skill levels.

The Lee Valley Ice Centre will open on Saturday 17 June, and they'll be celebrating with a special offer – on opening day, you'll be able to skate for only £1. Register here to take advantage of the offer.
