This year, Pyro's terrace has been reworked into Baráki Bar, a gorgeous Greek-inspired snug where heaters keep things toasty, cocktails flow, and everything seems to be cooked over fire. It's open Tuesday to Saturday, which makes it a fab option for an after-work drink or a cosy spot to settle in with friends when the sun decides to disappear at 4pm.
“Baráki” translates to “little bar,” although nothing about this setup feels particularly small. You step onto the terrace and find a covered, glowing space that feels more like a winter cabin than an outdoor bar — except here the soundtrack comes from resident DJs and the food leans modern Greek rather than molten fondue. It's stylish and warm, with fairy lights and blankets dotted around for an extra hit of cosiness.

The food comes from chef Yiannis Mexis, who is fully committed to the art of open-fire cooking. The Baráki Bar menu introduces five exclusive dishes alongside Pyro favourites, with flame-cooked favourites like barbecued halloumi with spiced Greek honey and pistachios, 'Choriatiko' pork sausage with summer savory (a Greek herb), fried Cornish squid with black pepper and tarama, and a Greek charcuterie selection with caper berries.

Inside the main restaurant, Pyro is also running a new £45 Autumn Lunch Set Menu that sticks firmly to the fire-led theme. It starts with a Spanakopita pastel de nata, followed by a sourdough potato pita cooked on the hearth, either with smoked aubergine and roasted garlic or with Missolonghi tarama and carob rusks. Mains include whole charred aubergine with Imam stew and smoked mizithra, Cornish pollack with Pellian hazelnuts and Jerusalem artichokes, or Dorset lamb cooked over alder wood with smoked anchovy yoghurt and moussaka. Sides include crispy layered potato with skordalia or a bitter leaf and Kavalian almond salad. To finish, there's parsnip ice cream with Greek honey and smoked bay leaf caramel.

If you show up on a Thursday or Friday, you'll get Balearic tunes and a bit of Mediterranean soul from the DJs, turning the terrace into a warm little pocket of summer energy in the middle of Borough's chilly evenings.
Baráki Bar runs Tuesday to Saturday and is ideal for cocktails, small plates, and general winter hibernation with a Greek twist. The Garden Bar is still open for walk-ins if you want to keep things a bit more al fresco.
