The Tower of London has been filled with tens of thousands of red ceramic poppies since May, marking 80 years since the end of the Second World War. The display runs until 11 November, making it a fitting visit around Remembrance Sunday.

Almost 30,000 poppies from the original artwork are returning, arranged inside the Tower walls in a striking formation designed to resemble a wound at the heart of the fortress, with ripples spreading out across the ground. The display marks 80 years since the end of the Second World War, and the Tower was also struck during the Blitz, with two people killed, which gives the setting a little extra weight.

Unlike the original display in 2014, which filled the moat and could be viewed from the perimeter, this version is inside the Tower. That means you will need a ticket to see it properly, although a small section will still be visible from outside if you're passing by.

The installation runs until 11 November and is best viewed from inside the Tower. You can buy tickets here if you want to see the full display up close.
