Seven Dials is Covent Garden's only village, lined with independent boutiques, vintage stores, quirky bars and iconic London architecture. The neighbourhood is a main character in London's city scene, so it's no surprise that heaps of activities are taking place to celebrate the King's Coronation.
Aside from the hundreds of Union Jack flags you can expect to see festooned above the cobbled streets, there will also be a regal floral installation at the entrance of Neal's Yard, created by luxury florist Maison de Fleurs, inspired by King Charles' beloved Tibetan Garden at Highgrove. Once the celebrations have finished, the plants used will be donated to The Phoenix Garden, a community garden and charity that offers a peaceful escape from the city and an important habitat for urban wildlife. There's also a British-themed pop-up, The Crown Jewels, and an installation from Insta-famous artist Jimmy C.
Of course, Seven Dials Market will also be getting stuck into the royal celebrations. You can expect a pop-up bar serving a range of King's Coronation cocktails alongside a variety of delicious street food from some of London's most famous traders, including Yum Bun's 'Pork Bun Royale' and Bad Boy Pizza Society's 'Coronation Aubergine Pizza'.
Brasserie Max at Covent Garden Hotel has also given their afternoon tea a Coronation makeover. It's running until August 31 and includes freshly baked scones with jam and cream (or cream and jam, whatever floats your boat), dainty sandwiches, opera cake and lemon cremeux decorated with unique Union Jacks. It'll all be washed down with a Royal cocktail inspired by the King's love of whisky and Darjeeling tea.
