If you've ever rolled your eyes at yet another plastic Big Ben or a mug with “I heart London” on it, you'll be pleased to know there's finally a place that gets it. Love and London has launched The London Souvenir Shop (That Doesn't Suck), a pop-up on D'Arblay Street packed with souvenirs made by actual Londoners. It feels more like stumbling into a maker's market than a tourist trap, and the best part is that it is not just about picking up gifts; you can make them here, too.

Downstairs, the crafting space will be flowing with people throughout the week, with workshops and drop-ins led by the shop's resident makers. One minute, it's candle-making; the next, someone stitching together a leather passport holder.

If you are thinking of popping in soon, the team is throwing “A Very British Christmas Party with Love and London” on Monday, 1 December from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. It's a full-blown festive affair, with mince pies, drinks, cosy after-hours browsing that lets you shop without the usual Soho shuffle, plus a few surprises along the way. You can hang out with Jess (Love and London founder), meet fellow followers, and even make your own Beefeater tree ornament with The Motleys, who are one of the featured makers. It's a drop-in setup, so you don't need to rock up right at 6:30, just swing by when you fancy.

If getting crafty is more your thing, Eden Crafts is hosting a drop-in passport holder session on Thursday, 4 December, from midday to 7pm. The family-run team, well-known from Portobello Market, can help you choose your colour, pick out pins that match your personality, and put together something that feels like a proper keepsake. You reserve a spot for free, which means you get to skip the queue, and you pay on the day, depending on the case and charms you choose.

There's plenty more popping up at the shop over the coming weeks. This one feels like the perfect place to kickstart your festive plans.
