The Dark Horse will open in Camden's iconic Stables on Monday, 6 January 2025, just steps from Primrose Hill and Kentish Town. This brand-new music-focused pub is set to become a local favourite in the popular Camden area.

The Dark Horse comes from the masterminds behind Le Bab, Kebab Queen, and legendary music venue Tape. The menu is all about comfort food, celebrating the very best British ingredients, reflecting the owners' childhood memories of eating at pubs in Lancashire and Oxfordshire. You can expect classics and old-time favourites with a modern twist, like fish and chips, lamb shank hot pot, prawn cocktail, and rarebit crumpets.

Weekend highlights include a quintessential full English breakfast and a proper Sunday roast with dry-aged Hereford sirloin and Hampshire pork belly. Drinks are all about quality and simplicity: ice-cold craft beers, classic cocktails, fine wines, and an impressive selection of spirits.

Co-founder Stephen Tozer says, “The Dark Horse is an ode to London. It's an unpretentious boozer bringing together beautiful Victorian architecture, one of the world's most exciting, diverse music scenes, great English food and cold cold beer”.

Drawing on Tape's deep connection with the record industry, Tape London will also design a cutting-edge music programme that celebrates Camden's legendary music heritage with weekly live performances and events. The programme aims to spotlight up-and-coming artists and rising stars, bridging the gap between newcomers and established ones.

As for the design itself, you can expect a traditional vibe, with comfortable leather armchairs, exposed brickwork and lots of wood, with nods to its original Victorian heritage. It was designed by Buchanan Studio, who have filled the space with lots of music-inspired art and photography, paying homage to Camden's renowned musical history.

The Dark Horse will be open from 6 January, seven days a week.
