After years of speculation, Guinness is finally getting a proper London home, and it's a biggun'. The Guinness Open Gate Brewery will open its doors in Covent Garden on December 11, transforming the historic Old Brewer's Yard into a 54,000-square-foot playground for beer lovers, foodies, and cult Guinness-drinkers.

It's not just a brewery, Guinness is calling this one a “brand home,” which means you can expect a mix of brewing, dining, retail and community spaces all under one roof. Visitors will be able to see how the beer is made, try limited-edition drinks, and get stuck into immersive experiences, including “Step into the Pint”, a 360-degree storytelling journey through Guinness's history in Covent Garden.

If you're into the technical side of things, there's also guided access to the working brewery, and tasting sessions led by Master Brewer Hollie Stephenson (who's previously run the show at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore). You'll even be able to pour your own pint in the 232 Bar, learning the famous “surge and settle” ritual the right way.

The new site will also feature two restaurants led by Pip Lacey (of Hicce and Murano fame), Gilroy's Loft and The Porter's Table, both promising something a little different. At Gilroy's Loft, named after John Gilroy (the artist behind Guinness's classic ads), it's all about Britain's coast, with a menu of oysters, fresh fish, and pints with skyline views. Downstairs, The Porter's Table focuses on sharing plates made from locally sourced ingredients.

If you'd rather something casual, chef Calum Franklin will be serving handmade pies in the courtyard at Old Brewer's Yard, where no booking is needed and the pints will be served outdoors. It's also set to host community events, pop-ups, and a bit of culture, think music, art, and maybe the odd Christmas market.

The site will also have two Guinness stores, The Store (for classic merch and fan favourites) and Guinness Good Things on Neal Street, which will stock exclusive fashion and lifestyle collaborations. There's also The Guinness Vaults, an underground event space opening in 2026 for gigs, private hires, and cultural bits and bobs.

First release of tour tickets and restaurant bookings go on sale in November. Check back here for updates.
