As January gets going and the winter chill lingers on, there's no better way to spend your time than tucked up in a cosy cinema and getting to know the world of short films. The London Short Film Festival returns from 17–26 January, hosting a programme showcasing new voices and creative storytelling in venues all around London.

The festival kicks off this weekend on 17 January, lasting until 26. Events are popping up all over London, in some of our favourite cinemas, such as Genesis in Mile End and Curzon in Soho. In Hounslow, a mobile cinema is parked up, providing a quirky and intimate place to get stuck into a film. Meanwhile, Dalston's much-loved Rio Cinema is showing 'The Gap In The Curtain', a haunting collection of three thrilling short films.

Take a look at their full timetable to see if there's anything taking place near you.
