It's Women's History Month (and International Women's Day) in March and there will be lots of events going on throughout the city to celebrate women. Fans of science who want to learn more about what women have achieved in this field can take a visit to the Natural History Museum and join one of a number of tours celebrating the scientific achievements of women. Best of all, all of the tours are free to attend.

This popular museum is running five different tours, all of them taking place regularly throughout February and March and sometimes running more than once a day. The variety of tours means there's something to appeal to a range of interests, learning fascinating information about notable women whilst also exploring the museum's impressive collection.

You can explore the mineral collection whilst hearing about notable female scientists throughout history, learn about the work of women who have focused on space and planetary materials, or find out about women who have worked in palaeontology whilst you check out the museum's collection of fossils. Added to that, there's a tour that focuses on how the natural world influences fashion and the female scientists and activists who have shaped our understanding of this. There's also a tour that concentrates on the work of female scientists of colour.

Booking a free ticket in advance is recommended for all of the tours but walk-ups can be accommodated subject to capacity. Find out more about each of the tours and book your space on the Natural History Museum's website.
