During the festive season, the Blooming British Afternoon Tea will add a dash of festive charm to its treats for one of the top Christmas afternoon tea experiences in London.
Served in the pretty Hyde Café at the luxurious Royal Lancaster hotel next to Hyde Park, the Blooming British Afternoon Tea is already a charming affair in its own right. Prepared in collaboration with the Natural History Museum, the afternoon tea celebrates British flora and fauna with beautifully crafted pastries, custom tableware, and fun and informative facts about the crucial work done by pollinators.

For the holidays, they're dialling the magic up a notch and giving their afternoon tea a Christmassy makeover. The experience starts off with a choice of bespoke tea blends, followed by a selection of festive finger sandwiches, including traditional roasted turkey and cranberry or smoked salmon with sliced avocado. Afterwards, warm cranberry and plain scones, served with ample amounts of strawberry jam and clotted cream, make a strong case for being the best scones in London, before meticulously crafted pastries round things off – miniature spiced gingerbread with clementine and cranberry gel, a snow-dusted beehive mousse, a chestnut and chocolate pavlova, and a mint-infused white Xmas bauble are sure to delight adults and children alike. There's even a small surprise at the end to take a keepsake of your time at the Hyde Café home with you.
The Christmas afternoon tea at the Royal Lancaster London is available daily until 4 January, with prices starting at £59. You can book your spot here.
