The BFI Future Film Festival is back this week from 10 Feb until 6 March. It takes place every February at BFI Southbank, supporting young filmmakers aged 16–25 across fiction, animation, and documentary.

The 2025 edition will be hybrid, with live screenings at BFI Southbank and partner cinemas, plus free films on the BFI YouTube channel. The festival is sponsored by Netflix and will showcase 53 short films curated from over 11,000 submissions across nine themes, including The City, Coming of Age, and Our Planet. There will also be engaging talks and workshops on storytelling, the business of film, and career development.

The festival is designed for aspiring filmmakers aged 16 to 25 who want to kick-start their careers and learn from industry professionals. It aims to connect young people interested in the screen industries with leading experts while providing opportunities to meet fellow creatives, find collaborators, and expand their networks.

You can purchase tickets for the festival here.
