The World's 50 Best Bars for 2025 were revealed at the annual awards ceremony yesterday, with a new bar crowned in the top spot and four of London's finest ranking on the list.
One of the most prestigious awards a bar can win, the World's 50 Best Bars list rewards excellence in mixology, presentation, design, and other aspects that distinguish the world's top drinking dens from your average local haunt. Eagerly anticipated each year, the list is hard to break onto – there are only 50 spots, after all – and can change a bar's fortunes overnight.

This year, the top spot went to Bar Leone in Hong Kong, but Londoners will be more interested in seeing where their hometown heroes have landed. The highest-ranked London bar on the World's 50 Best Bars list is again Shoreditch's Tayēr + Elementary, though it did slip a spot compared to last year – from #4 to #5.
Hot on its heels is 2021 winner Connaught Bar at #6, back in the top 10 where it belongs, after falling to #13 last year. For what it's worth, this also means London is the only city besides Barcelona with two bars in the top 10.
The two other London bars on the list, Satan's Whiskers and Scarfes Bar, likewise both improved their positions compared to 2024 – the former from #29 to #21 and the latter from #37 to #31.
