Pirana in St James isn't exactly a low-key restaurant; it's big, bold, stylish, and it knows how to put on a proper show. Now, the Nikkei-inspired spot is going all in on a new Bluefin Tuna Experience, kicking off Monday, 29th September and running every two weeks until the end of the year.

At 7pm, a 130kg bluefin tuna is wheeled out into the restaurant and ceremoniously displayed while guests gather around the chef's table to watch as Pirana's executive chef talks through the process before the fish is expertly carved right in front of you.

The night continues with a bespoke tuna tasting menu that shows off the fish in every possible form – from spicy tuna maki rolls with avocado and aji panca, to otoro nigiri topped with caviar, robata-grilled tuna skewers, and even a crunchy tuna cone with wasabi tobiko and truffle ponzu. Depending on your appetite (and budget), menus range from £120pp for six dishes up to £190pp for the full 11-course lineup.

And because this is Pirana, the party doesn't end with dessert. After the show, you can hang out in the sultry bar area, sip Champagne or enjoy one of their very good espresso martins while you forget it's a Monday in Mayfair.
