Once a year during its annual Ice Heritage Weekend, the London Canal Museum invites visitors into its massive Victorian ice well. Located underground, it's where they used to keep ice imported all the way from Norway and delivered via London's waterways.

In addition to the unique opportunity to see a fascinating part of London history for yourself, the museum hosts a variety of family-friendly activities across the weekend. Families can enjoy magical storytelling sessions about Victorian ice and ice cream, an ice-themed trail with prizes, and a hands-on craft workshop to make sparkling ice bracelets. Other highlights include tunnel boat trips, a photo-matching Ice Trade Challenge, and a fun Ice Cream Scent Challenge.

While Saturday is dedicated to family fun, visitors (ages 14+) can return on Sunday for a rare chance to descend into the historic underground ice wells. Talks, demonstrations, and other events will also be held on Sunday.
