The Forester, in the heart of Ealing, has just been crowned London's most beautiful pub at the 2025 CAMRA Pub Design Awards, and it's not hard to see why. Cosy Edwardian fireplaces? Check. Dreamy stained glass windows? Check. Proper pints in a grand, historical setting? Obviously.
The Forester is a total stunner, fresh from a trendy refurbishment. Step inside and you're met with original Edwardian features, polished wood panelling, and the kind of tiled fireplaces that make you want to order a roast and a glass of red wine and settle in for the day. The Art Nouveau-style stained glass windows cast a kaleidoscopic glow across the room every time the sun shines through.

It's all part of what the CAMRA judges, a panel of design and heritage experts, called a “respectful refurbishment”, keeping the pub's historic charm intact while giving it the love it deserves.
But The Forester isn't just a pretty face. It's still very much a proper local, with top-notch cask ales and real ciders behind the bar. The staff are lovely and there's a real sense of community, making it the kind of place that manages to feel both grand and down-to-earth.
