If your idea of festive music stretches beyond choirs and the classic carols, award-winning Tim Edey's Celtic Christmas offers a slightly different way into the season this Saturday, 20 December. Taking place at Kings Place, the evening centres on Edey's guitar-led take on Christmas music from across Celtic and folk traditions, shaped by years of globe-trotting and collaboration.

Throughout the night, you can expect familiar seasonal classics alongside less-obvious songs, like 'The Wexford Carol' and 'Ding Dong Merrily on High', but also 'The Galician Carol', a reworking of music from 'The Snowman', and a thoughtful version of 'Fairytale of New York'.

The show runs for around two hours, including an interval, and feels well-suited to Kings Place's seated, intimate setting. Whether you're already into folk music or just looking for a more laid-back December gig that still pays homage to Christmas, this lands somewhere comfortably in the middle.
