Christmas is arriving early in Walthamstow as the Blackhorse Beer Mile throws its annual festive party on Saturday 6 December. The whole stretch of Blackhorse Lane will be busy from midday, with breweries and bars running their own take on Christmas eating, drinking and the usual December drama.
Big Penny Social will be alive with a Christmas tree market, the Brass Funkeys, curling lanes and DJs who'll keep things going late into the night. Pretty Decent is running an all-day soundtrack of party bangers and Christmas classics with cocktail specials, mulled wine and a lucky dip tree stocked with merch and, of course, beer.
Over at Exale, things will be rowdier with a live Mariachi band before a DJ set of 90s favourites, while Renegade Urban Winery is keeping things calmer with a festive market from midday to 6pm that's filled with local makers, mulled wine and winter cocktails. Next door, a brass band adds to the Christmas vibes.
40ft Brewery brings in TASCA, the nomadic restaurant from chef Josh Dallaway and sommelier Sinead Murdoch, alongside vinyl-spinning DJs and their winter sharing bottle Blackhorse Gâteau. Signature Brew has a mix of Turncoat Billy, a Christmas singalong with Jade Goddard and food from Los Gordos. Burnt Faith will be warming people up with strong winter cocktails, a funfair and guest beers from Pillars.
Entry is free, and everything is dog and kid-friendly within reason. If you want a Christmas party that mixes craft beer with festive shenanigans, this is the one.
