The Blackhorse Beer Mile never really needs an excuse for a party, but this weekend, Saturday, October 4, they've got a good one. They're going all out for an old-school harvest festival, bringing together live music, dancing, community vibes, and, of course, plenty of beer.
Things kick off on Friday evening with a barn dance led by Cut A Shine inside Big Penny Studio. Don't worry if you've got two left feet, there's a live band and a “caller” to guide you through all the moves, so no experience is required.
You'll also catch a special performance from the Blackhorse & Standard North West Morris Dancers, an all-female troupe who've been brightening up Walthamstow since 1981, and the celebrations are set to run all the way until 1am.
Across the weekend, they're also supporting local food bank Eat or Heat with a pop-up donation and fundraising station. If you're heading down, bring long-life items like tins and packets, no fresh produce, as they don't have storage space.
It's family-friendly until 7pm, then strictly 18+ after that.
