Not to be confused with the Windmill Brixton concert venue, Brixton Windmill is the last working windmill in London. More than 200 years old, this Grade II-listed landmark still makes its own flour, and you can get a glimpse behind the scenes on of its guided tours.

Taking place every second weekend of the month from March to October, the tour of Brixton Windmill explores its historic wind-powered machinery and explains how it once produced stoneground flour. Visitors can see two sets of millstones: the original wind-driven ones and a smaller set added in 1902, originally powered by steam. Today, the millstones run on electricity and are used by volunteers to make Brixton Windmill flour.
