Diwan Damas is a compact Syrian confectionery in Marble Arch, specialising in Damascene desserts such as madloua, a semolina pudding covered with raw cream, or the various sweets using shredded filo pastry, for example the kanafeh with melted goats’ cheese. The shop is also famous for its bouzza, a thick, chewy Syrian ice cream that has all the air beaten out and is then sprinkled with pistachios.
