If you’re looking for a bakery that goes a bit beyond the usual croissants and carrot cake, going a bit beyond Central London is as good an idea as any. The Morny Bakehouse is located in a nondescript part of Leyton, but puts its own spin on patisserie and bakery treats with candied cucumber cruffins, Reuben croissants, hazelnut pains au raisin and more. They’re quickly gaining a citywide fanbase, so don’t be surprised by the long queues, especially on weekends.

One of the best bakeries in East London, worth queuing on the weekends for inventive sweet and savoury bakes. Their sandwiches and focaccias are delicious, and all the sweets we have had so far have been sublime.
