Bar and restaurant Joia is the first London venture from Michelin-starred Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa. From its 14th and 15th floor location, this modern coral-coloured venue offers fantastic views of Battersea Power Station that make fab photo opportunities. The decor and ambience is refined, offering a distinctive dining experience in the capital.
The cuisine at Joia uses authentic Iberian ingredients in combination with carefully-sourced British produce to bring Londoners distinctive dishes with unique flavours. Dishes are inspired by the chef's culinary heritage and travels across the Portuguese Iberian Peninsula. The menu features plenty of small bites to share like octopus salad, Iberico ham, and grilled leeks. There are larger dishes as well such as rice with wild mushroom, black truffle, and Azores island cheese or braised Iberian pork cheeks. Traditional Portuguese desserts are on the menu as well. The wine list is made up of Portuguese and Spanish bottles.
The emphasis at the Joia bar is on elegant and creative cocktails. The signature cocktail collection is inspired by the 12 precious gems of the Iberian region and is full of intriguing flavours like basil-infused gin mixed with mint and matcha cordial and citrus foam. Fun sharing cocktails like sangria are available too. If you drop by for drinks and start to feel peckish, snacks and hot and cold tapas are also served in the bar. For a modern experience of Portuguese cuisine, this venue is bound to impress.
