Ognisko

Located on the ground floor of the elegant Grade II listed building that houses the Polish Hearth Club, a hub for Polish culture in the city, and around the corner from the Polish Institute and Sikorski Museum, Ognisko brings traditional Old Continent hospitality to South Kensington.

The Ognisko restaurant is located in an affluent area between Hyde Park and the Victoria and Albert Museum and features an elegant classical interior the befits the area. Furnished in white and featuring wood flooring, tables and decor, the dining room provides a tasteful, romantic setting, with plenty of space for larger groups as well. The restaurant also boasts a large covered terrace for al fresco dining, as well as a private area for hire, where you can hold anything from your wedding reception to smaller parties and dinners.

The menu at Ognisko showcases traditional Polish cuisine, with highlights including specialties such as pierogi dumplings with different fillings, placki – potato pancakes – with various toppings, the goląbki stuffed cabbage leaves, whole roast duck, pork schnitzel and more. They also serve a selections of fish dishes, for example pan-fried mackerel and hot smoked salmon salad, as well as caviar. For dessert, try the Polish version of cheesecake with vanilla and white chocolate, or go for one of the other treats.

The bar at Ognisko features a sizeable list of wines from all over the world, as well as cocktails. They also serve small bites such as dumplings in the bar area.
