Moments from Bethnal Green station you’ll see Renegade Wine Bar, a space by an urban winery. This is the group’s original site, with a second bar with a winery having opened in E17 in 2021. Renegade Wine Bar is a relaxed venue with indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs are welcome too. The winery produces 12-14 different varieties each year, taking advantage of the UK’s lack of legislation around wine production to get creative and produce bottles that are truly original. It’s not just what’s inside the bottles but what’s on the outside too – the distinctive labels all feature the eyes of a person who lives in the UK, many being Londoners, celebrating the rich diversity of the country.

On the menu you’ll see a curated collection of Renegade’s wines, including skin-contact bottles and English sparkling wine aged in the crypt of Christ Church Spitalfields – a bottle that truly is local if you’re in Bethnal Green. Guest bottles from other urban wineries are available too. If you fancy an alternative, the bar also does cocktails and craft beer.
