The Courtesan

Brixton’s The Courtesan is furnished with dark wood pieces and period art, giving it a refined, timeless feel. The venue is part restaurant, part tea house and part late-night cocktail bar, shifting between its various roles with practised ease as time passes. 

The menu at this intimate eatery revolves around dim sum, with the all-female chef team honouring dim sum’s regal origins while taking advantage of global ingredients and culinary creativity. You can therefore expect dishes such as the Curious Pumpkin Buns, Deep-fried Softshell Crab and Tortelli al Vapore, an Italian-inspired take on the dumpling.

The Courtesan also pays special attention to the drinks. The signature cocktails combine intriguing ingredients such as chilli, red bean and lapsang souchong tea with various spirits to create visually and flavourfully pleasing concoctions that tell their own stories. All of the wines, spirits, liqueurs and syrups listed on the drinks menu are either made by women or by women-owned companies.

The venue also regularly hosts burlesque and cabaret nights featuring leading West End performers and international guests, providing a rounded experience for discerning patrons.
