Restored in 2014 but dating back to 1851, Bethnal Green's Sun Tavern is the place to go if you're after strong Irish spirits of the legal variety as well as under-the-table moonshine. The pub boasts the largest selection of Irish whiskeys in the city, including rare and vintage bottles, as well as the most expansive selection of poitín, Ireland's original moonshine, illegal until 1997 and dialling the ABV up as far as 90%, in the whole world.
