Iris & June Victoria

Iris & June is an independent coffee shop with a branch in Victoria and Holborn. They specialise in delicious coffee and wholesome seasonal food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, prepared freshly on-site daily. The Victoria branch is cosy, with a handful of seats for dining in-house, whilst the Holborn restaurant is takeaway only.

They source their ingredients from suppliers they trust, ensuring that they share the same values regarding food. Everything is prepared fresh daily, from seasonal salads and chunky sandwiches to homemade cakes.

The small business works hard to put sustainability at the forefront of everything they do and believes everyone has a duty of care to keep their environmental impact to a minimum. They separate their recycling to ensure that it's processed via the correct streams, and an anaerobic digestion plant processes food and coffee waste through their waste management system. They also source 80% of all packaging from a completely compostable company and encourage customers to bring their own reusable cups, straws and food containers, as they strive not to have any single-use plastic on site.

They share their sustainable purchasing policy with all of their suppliers to ensure transparency around the standards they expect suppliers to have when sourcing products. They rarely throw food away, and the chefs use trimmings and leftover vegetables to make stews, pickles and sauces. They've also partnered with Too Good To Go, a food waste company that connects customers to restaurants and shops with surplus unsold food.

They have partnered with Breaking Barriers, a charity that helps refugees rebuild their lives and find meaningful employment. Alongside this, they also fundraise for The Passage - a charity supporting homeless people in the local community - and Project Waterfall, who are providing drinking water to coffee-producing communities worldwide.
