The Close-Up Film Centre aims to make film culture and history more accessible and is the most comprehensive independent film resource in the capital. Through its programme, it presents films that have shaped cinematography through the ages, as well as indie and experimental cinema. It encompasses an intimate theatre, a café and bar, and a library holding over 20,000 titles specialising in early cinema, classics, world cinema, documentaries, experimental films and video art.
