When it opened back in 1856, the National Portrait Gallery was the first-ever portrait gallery to exist anywhere in the world. It's home to a massive collection of portraits depicting some of the most prominent British figures throughout history. Following refurbishment in 2023, it now features a new entrance, public spaces, a learning centre, and an updated collection display.
