This free museum is located inside an 18th-century Grade I-listed building on Kingsland Road and shares the interesting stories of homes through the years. See how domestic interiors changed from 1600 to the present day and explore how decoration and furniture have changed. There’s also a beautiful garden with seasonal displays highlighting how gardens have evolved through the years.

A surprisingly cosy museum - you could just come here, read a book in the reading room, and have a very chill afternoon. The exhibits are interesting and very detailed, and the museum is bigger than I expected. It’s great for little ones too, there are loads of fun things to do and plenty of space to play in.
