Sune
A project by a pair of hospitality veterans, Sune sits by the canal in Broadway Market and boasts a pleasant outdoor terrace. Open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, the restaurant serves an assortment of thoughtfully prepared plates such as ricotta gnudi with octopus and n'duja, or lamb neck with apple mustard and peppercorn gravy. The dishes are complemented by bold natural wines.
The vibe was lovely, and the wine list was impressive – I'm pretty sure it was all organic. The food is all sharing plates, and the bill was reasonable for the six of us, but I think you'd be spending a fair bit between a couple. It was still lovely; there were just a couple of dishes we didn't like, like the terrine and the scallop, which was ok but hard to split between six; we just couldn't justify spending another £17 for just one. But the fried quail was nice, and the pork chop was delish. Oh, and I dunno what they do to their flatbreads, but Mama Mia, I hope they keep that on the menu!
