A fantastic range of wine, delicious craft beer and spirits such as mezcal are served up by the knowledgeable staff at Riket. Throw in a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the charming Davidshall district and a small selection of simple yet tasty seasonal dishes and the result is, quite simply, a really great bar.

Is there any occasion that doesn't warrant a visit to MJ's? Highly doubtful. As well as being a stylish, modern hotel, it's one of Malmö's hottest meeting places for both locals and visitors passing through. The lobby bar is open every day of the week and beer, wine and creative cocktails flow freely along with the music. At weekends, there's even more of a party feel with both live music and DJs at Lillies, MJ's speakeasy bar, which is open on Fridays and Saturdays.  

As the numerous wine glasses on the tables suggest, carefully selected European wines are served here, but the drinks options don't end there. The bar delivers on all fronts with a wide range of beers and gorgeous cocktails mixed by skilled bartenders, among other alternatives. Hang out in the mingle-friendly bar area or the al fresco area on Davidshallstorg.

Since Lola Maria opened its doors, you don't have to travel any further than Lilla Torg to experience Andalusia. Eat tapas and drink cocktails or sip a glass of wine in truly elegant surroundings with marble and beautiful lamps. Spanish vibes permeate both the food and drink menus, with the latter listing wines from the country's various regions and cocktails inspired by everything from Valencia oranges to Basque cheesecake. 

Escape to delightful Italy and la dolce vita in Grand Italian's bustling bar. Here, 25 floors up in Clarion Malmö Live, there's a fun, lively atmosphere from afternoon until late evening. The menu features both classic cocktails and signature drinks, a variety of wines from different corners of Italy, and other delicious options to quench your thirst. Antipasti is also served if you feel like starting with something to nibble on.

Right in the middle of this wonderfully kitschy Italian restaurant is a long marble bar. You can come here to start your evening off with a cocktail, or simply just for the sake of a good drink. There's plenty to choose from among the many bottles, but naturally Italian cocktails take centre stage – and who would say no to a Negroni? In summer you can enjoy your drink on the al fresco area by the canal.

Quench your thirst and satisfy your hunger at this charming, quirky little wooden cabin in the middle of Folkets Park. There's an extensive and constantly updated selection of wines, bubbles and beer to choose from - either to enjoy with a meal or hanging out at the bar. Far i hatten also hosts regular live music performances in all kinds of genres.

Looking to combine well-blended cocktails with a fun activity? Players of all levels are welcome to play deck shuffleboard, a larger-scale version of shuffleboard, at Bermuda. Between rounds, you can quench your thirst with classic cocktails as well as the venue's own creations, or a glass of wine or beer if you prefer. A unique concept perfect for after-work socialising.

Laid-back Metro is a Möllan institution, and their extensive list of great beers can cause agonies of indecision. If an Ipa, stout or pilsner isn't your thing, the bar also serves a small selection of wines. DJ performances are a regular event at Metro.

The Italian trattoria Basta on Lilla Torg doesn't just serve freshly baked Neapolitan pizzas and fresh pasta. There are also two bars where cocktails are shaken all evening, perfect for an aperitivo or a spontaneous big night out.

Grand generally has something fun on the go, such as cultural events, live music and nightclubs. Throw in a wide selection of craft beers, cocktails and natural wine, as well as a menu full of Swedish-French dishes and you've got a proper night out. Full of locals as well as new guests who've heard the rumours about the drinks selection here. 

Fiery, fruity, sweet, sour - you'll find shots in all imaginable (and unimaginable) varieties here, even one that the bartender definitely doesn't recommend. Lots of the shots are also served with an anecdote or a little show by the bartenders, to ensure a fun, action-packed evening. The menu also includes Mexican food in the form of tacos and nachos, and if you're not a shots fan they also serve beer, wine and cider.
