The guide to Malmö's Christmas markets

In a long-standing tradition, this pedestrian street is lit up with Christmas decorations which then culminate in a market, in what is popularly known as Gustav - one of the city's busiest squares. Passers-by stop for a while to admire the decorations here and along Södertull and to enjoy seasonal hot food and drinks before they move on. The Christmas market on Gustav Adolfs Torg is cosy with a focus on authentic handicrafts, goodies and fine Christmas gifts.

Malmö Saluhall transforms its cosy yard into a Christmas market with fine foods, gifts and decorations. Sample home-brewed apple mulled wine, listen to Advent music and meet local artisans selling ceramics, wreaths and interior design.

Katrinetorp Landeri, one of the country's best-preserved 19th century buildings, hosts a wonderful annual Christmas market. Shop for locally produced food, handicrafts and antiques, enjoy live music, dance around the tree and take a look inside a fairytale house.

Bondens egen Marknad farmers market in Malmö helps you get ready for the festive season with a Christmas market that offers everything you could possibly need for a proper Scanian Christmas. Expect a lot of tasty treats in the form of locally produced and small-scale food products, as well as a cosy Christmas atmosphere at Drottningtorget.

A traditional Christmas market with stalls, crafts and children's activities - a proper Christmas market with an old-fashioned festive atmosphere in historic surroundings. Children can meet Father Christmas, dance around the Christmas tree, watch a magic show and do Christmas crafting. 

Between Caroli church and the shopping centre, you can shop for Christmas gifts, enjoy delicious food, and take part in pony rides, face painting, Christmas crafts, and music. After a few twirls on the skating rink in Folkets Park, head to Far i Hatten to warm up and get a dose of Christmas spirit. Their inner courtyard is filled with market stalls, selling everything from handicrafts and design items to food from local producers. As usual, the restaurant serves pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven, and mulled wine and seasonal goodies are also on the menu.

The Christmas market in Limhamn just outside Malmö is an annual market with stall holders selling arts and crafts, Christmas decorations, food and drinks. The market in Limhamn square also has live music, dancing around the Christmas tree and a visit from the city's Lucia. 

The annual Mitt Möllan Christmas market in the heart of Malmö is full of local exhibitors and stores offering sustainable and often locally-produced items. If your hunger gets the best of you in the middle of your Christmas shopping, just head to the food court and pick something delicious to eat and drink.

On 7th December, witches, wizards, sprites, and other supernatural beings gather in Holmgången in Malmö to engage in commerce during Yuletide – as they put it. Visitors are encouraged to come dressed as wizards or witches to contribute to the magical atmosphere, and to gain entry, visitors must collect a free ticket with an admission time at the gate towards Södra Förstadsgatan.

Shop for Christmas gifts directly from the students at Östra Grevie Folkhögskola. The selection varies each year depending on which art forms the students are working in, but in previous years, everything from postcards and t-shirts to jewellery and ceramics has been sold. The Christmas market takes place in the indoor riding school at Folkets Park.

Bulltofta Sports Centre is hosting a Christmas market where you can shop for both gifts and edible goods, enjoy festive treats like mulled wine and gingerbread, and simply soak up the pleasant Christmas atmosphere. A market for the whole family.

The shopping centre Kronprinsen invites you to a Christmas market over three days in December. There will be fresh-baked goods, warming mulled wine, and lights that twinkle in the winter darkness. A cosy atmosphere with music and festive surprises is also promised, and Father Christmas might even pay a visit?

Malmö Working Dog Club is organising a Christmas market with a dog theme on Hammars väg. Bring your dog along so you can try out special searching, agility and rally obedience together, and take a break with snacks and a raffle in the clubhouse.
