Christmas dinner gets a Mediterranean glow up at Erev in Notting Hill

If you have somehow reached December without plotting at least one reason to gather your favourite people around a table, EREV in Notting Hill is making a fairly strong case for doing exactly that. Their new festive feast is a mouthwatering spread designed for people who would rather skip the turkey in favour of a table full of Mediterranean dishes made for sharing. 

Head chef Yakup Gundogdu has put together a lineup that may feel familiar if you already know EREV, only levelled up for the season. The star is a slow-cooked lamb shoulder that falls apart the second it hits the table, or if you are not the biggest fan of lamb, the roasted celeriac arrives alongside a posse of other veggies, including heritage carrots, crispy smashed potatoes, hispi cabbage and a bright kale salad.

They have also brought back a few favourites, like their Turkish tacos, smoked aubergine tartare, and a dessert board that hits the sweet spot perfectly, thanks to chocolate mousse, Basque cheesecake, and Ottoman baklava. The whole thing is built for groups of four or more to tuck into, and is a top-notch option for a festive catch-up that's a little different to your usual pub grub.
