“Soil: The World at Our Feet” at Somerset House is a landmark exhibition opening on 23 January that explores the vital importance of soil to all life on Earth.

Divided into three main sections – Life Below Ground, Life Above Ground, and Hope – the show features an array of artistic interventions, scientific insights, and immersive installations that highlight soil's role in climate change, human health, and regenerative farming. Londoners can experience dynamic works like Wim van Egmond's micro-photography and Michael Prime's recordings of microbial life, while Marshmallow Laser Feast's vast digital projections explore the underground networks of fungi. The exhibition also includes participatory spaces like the Soil Kitchen by Something & Son, where visitors engage with soil through playful, hands-on activities.

“Soil: the World at Our Feet” is on at Somerset House from 23 January to 13 April 2025. You can find out more about the exhibition and book tickets here.
