If your idea of a perfect Saturday involves Champagne before noon and a side of city skyline, Engel's new brunch should be on your list. Set inside the Royal Exchange, this sleek German restaurant and bar is where 1920s Berlin meets modern London and has just launched a weekend Champagne Brunch, served every Saturday from its mezzanine and sunny terrace.

You'll find a combo of comfort and classy dishes, including Black Forest pancakes, lobster rolls, fried chicken and waffles, and a breakfast hot dog that leans into Engel's Berlin roots, wrapped in bacon and stacked with sautéed mushrooms and onions.

The real hook, though, is the fizz. Engel is knocking 50% off its entire Champagne list throughout April and May – think £7.75 glasses and £41 bottles – before switching to a rotating monthly house special from June, starting with Ruinart. Expect some seriously luxe labels like Dom Pérignon P2 and Krug Grande Cuvée at a hefty and rare discount.

Brunch runs from 11:30am to 3:30pm every Saturday, with the à la carte menu taking over in the evening.
