Exciting news for British travellers: soon, you'll be able to journey directly from London St Pancras to the heart of Germany and Switzerland by train, with fares potentially starting from just £59. This comes courtesy of a significant £1.7 billion investment by Eurostar, set to revolutionise European rail travel.
The rail operator has unveiled plans for new direct services from London to Frankfurt and Geneva, expected to launch in the early 2030s. This means bidding farewell to the faff of airport queues, flight delays, and painful layovers. Imagine hopping on a train in central London and stepping off in Frankfurt in just five hours, or Geneva in around five hours and twenty minutes.
These new routes will be served by a brand-new fleet of up to 50 trains, part of Eurostar's mission to make rail the most stylish and sustainable way to explore the continent.
You'll have ample choice for your next European trip with up to four daily trains to Frankfurt and three to Geneva. There will also be increased services to Amsterdam, and additional trains to Paris, so you'll really be spoilt for choice.
