From 25 June 2025 to 24 January 2026, the Grant Museum of Zoology is unveiling all there is to know about one of nature's most misunderstood creatures with its new free exhibition, 'World of Wasps'. It's been curated for visitors of all ages, combining modern imaging, VR experiences, projections and contemporary art to give you an up-close look at the secret lives of wasps, from their nests to their surprisingly social behaviour (did you know they purr and waggle to communicate?).

You'll find fascinating specimens from all around the world on display, and the chance to step inside a virtual nest or see the world through a wasp's eyes thanks to two cutting-edge VR software. There are also creative family workshops running on select dates, perfect for anyone keen to learn why wasps are essential to our ecosystems. Family workshops are scheduled for 28 June, 27 September, 28 October, and 29 November 2025.

Booking here is recommended for workshops (first hour), or you can drop in.
