Meltdown, the longest-running artist-curated festival in London, is back for its 31st year. Expect a host of impressive emerging artists, groups and experiences specially chosen by this year's host, Harry Styles.
Following in the star-studded footprints of his predecessors, Harry Styles will be curating and hosting this year's edition of the Meltdown festival at the Southbank Centre. Musical legends such as David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Chaka Khan and Patti Smith have hosted the festival in previous years. For the 31st edition, the festival's identity will be shaped by Styles' iconic self-expression and creative curiosity. Handpicked by Styles himself, the festival promises to deliver an eclectic and exciting mix of musical gigs, creatives and experiences. The headlining acts include Warpaint, Kamasi Washington, Devonté Hynes, Mulatu Astatke, Jon Hopkins, Soulwax, and an exclusive performance from Styles himself supported by the Jules Buckley Orchestra.
In addition to the musical gigs, the festival will also offer a public programme of interactive, participatory and free events, including group dad-dancing and live podcast sessions. Events will take place across the 11-acres of Southbank Centre and are primarily located in the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room.
