With over 3,600 Indian restaurants in London, being singled out as number one is an incredible feat. This year, Colonel Saab has been recognised as the Best Indian Restaurant in London by the Indian Restaurants Congress and Awards event.
Colonel Saab has two locations, Trafalgar Square and Holborn, and serves an elevated menu of Indian fine dining. At the Trafalgar Square establishment, the restaurant is ornate and opulent, eye-catching chandeliers sparkle from the ceiling, and the dark red interiors melt into the wood-panelled walls adorned with mementoes, rugs and paintings. Love letters also abound in every space, penned in elegant handwriting. These letters were exchanged between the owner Roop Partap Choudhary's parents, and serve to remind diners of their culinary caper across India.
As they scoured the country, Roop's parents discovered and fell in love with regional Indian cooking. By visiting Colonel Saab, we're invited to experience the very best of those flavours, from street food signatures, homely Indian cooking and even recipes remembered from the cookbooks of royalty. It's worth splashing out on the full tasting experience here to truly experience the adventure. Although, if we had to pick a few favorites from the à la carte, we'd go for the Anglo-Indian chicken chop, the Falahari kofta, or Old Delhi's famous lamb curry.
Congratulations are in order for the Colonel Saab team, we can't wait to see what they do next!
