It's an exciting time for Southbank restaurant LIMIN, which has been serving the bold dishes of Trinidad and Tobago to hungry Londoners since 2018. They have officially been named Best Caribbean Restaurant at the 2nd annual UK Caribbean Food Awards.
The UK Caribbean Food Awards celebrate the incredible talent in this thriving sector, shining a light on outstanding restaurants, delicious food, passionate business owners, and innovative entrepreneurs. It was founded by the amazing duo of Dawn Burton and Marsha Barnett from The Caribbean Food Collective.

This prestigious accolade recognises LIMIN's dedication to championing Caribbean cuisine at its finest. Judges commended the restaurant for its role in "redefining Caribbean dining with outstanding flavours and unforgettable experiences."
This award represents a significant milestone for owners Sham Mahabir and James Togut, who have shared Trinidad and Tobago's spirit and culinary heritage since pre-COVID times. What started as a modest pop-up in Old Spitalfields Market soon won the hearts of the city with its vibrant island energy and home-cooked food.
Sham Mahabir expressed his gratitude: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this award. It's a testament to the hard work and passion our team has put into celebrating Caribbean culture in the UK. I would especially like to thank Coin Street for the opportunity to open during COVID-19 and for giving us the space to grow the only independently owned Caribbean restaurant in central London. We're excited for what the future holds, and this award inspires us to continue pushing boundaries.”
