Following her Michelin-starred hit Sabor, chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho is heading east with Legado, opening August 28 in Shoreditch. Teaming up once again with JKS Restaurants, she's showcasing Spain's lesser-known regional dishes in a deeply personal tribute to her roots.
You can expect whole-animal butchery, just-caught seafood, and dishes you've likely never seen outside of Spain – such as Crystal prawns with Moscatel vinegar, confit lobster with fried egg, and a two-day Swiss chard and smoked cheese 'Legado Sandwich'. There's a serious drinks list too: 150 Spanish wines, seasonal mini-cocktails, and rare sherries.

Decorated in a contemporary palette of green, plaster pink, and terracotta, the space centres around a dramatic open kitchen with counter seats offering front-row views. Natural light floods the double-height dining room, where exposed brick walls and a handpicked display of Spanish wines tempt you to browse. The kitchen features two handmade ovens from Madrid, dedicated to slow-roasting lamb and pork, while Taberna, the casual bar and terrace, serves pintxos and cocktails throughout the day. Outside, a protected terrace offers 18 seats for al fresco drinks and snacks, whatever the weather.
