Michelin stars 2023: Here are all the London winners

On 27 March, the globally renowned Michelin Guide announced the 2023 winners of its coveted stars in Great Britain and Ireland. Twenty new restaurants received one star, four of them in London. Three restaurants received two stars, two of them based in London. Finally, four restaurants in total received a green star, including Apricity in London. No new restaurants joined the elite ranks of three Michelin stars, however.

At an awards ceremony in Silverstone, hosted by racing driver Amanda Stretton, the Michelin Guide announced this year's recipients of Michelin stars in Great Britain and Ireland. The highly desired award is the most prestigious culinary award a restaurant can receive, denoting a degree of excellence that is a cut above the vast majority of dining establishments in the world. Receiving (or losing) one, two or three Michelin stars can drastically change the fortunes of a restaurant, with the highest-ranked, three-Michelin-starred restaurants drawing in gourmets from around the world and selling out seats months and even years in advance. In short, the Michelin stars are a Big Deal. So, without further ado, see below for the newly minted Michelin-starred restaurants in London.

Though no new restaurants received three Michelin stars, all current holders of three Michelin stars retained their honours.

In addition to the classic 2023 Michelin stars, the Michelin Guide also revealed the winners of the green stars that reflect a restaurant's exceptional commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly practices, as well as certain special awards. Tara Ozols of SOLA in London received the Sommelier Award, while Makis Kazakis of Park Chinois received the inaugural Cocktail Award. Chantelle Nicholson's Apricity received a green star.
