Sip on the best bourbon in the world at this bourbon tasting experience
Updated 25 Sep 2024
On November 27, The K Bar at The Kensington Hotel is hosting a one-off rare and exclusive bourbon tasting. You'll learn about the legendary Pappy Van Winkle bourbon from the award-winning distillery Buffalo Trace. Production is low, but demand is high, so this bourbon tasting is not to be missed if you're a fan of the spirit.
Get to know one of the world's most iconic bourbons, which has been described as 'more of a folk tale than a whiskey' due to its difficulty sourcing. Tickets to the tasting will grant you five 25ml pours from Pappy Van Winkle alongside light bites to accompany each drink. It'll kick off with an expertly crafted Eagle Rare Old Fashioned, then onto 25ml tastings of Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year, 25ml of Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 Year, and 25ml of Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year.
It doesn't stop there; you'll also get to savour 25ml of the Pappy Van Winkle 20, crowned the world's best bourbon, scoring an impressive 99 out of 100 at the World Spirits Championship. Tastings will be finished with a Pappy Van Winkle 23 (25ml), a rare treat usually priced at £135 per pour at The K Bar.
For the month of November, the K Bar will also serve three limited-edition Buffalo Trace cocktails, all priced at £17. These include the Noyaux with Buffalo Trace bourbon, chestnuts, and bitters; the Louisville made with Eagle Rare 10-Year-Old bourbon, bacon, maple, and bitters; and the Fortunella, made up of Sazerac Rye, Camparo, Mancino Chinato, and kumquat.
Tickets to the tasting are £180 each and can be purchased here.
