Jamie Oliver's Catherine Street terrace is the perfect spot for a summer spritz, with drinks from just £8. Here's a closer look at what's on offer.

Slowly but surely, the sun and warmer days are returning to London. There's only one unofficial way to make the most of the sunshine and that is finding the perfect spot on a terrace with a refreshing spritz in hand. The winning formula for the best terraces? A lively setting, a spacious table and a drinks list worth exploring. We know just the place.

Campari, elderflower and sarti spritzes

Jamie Oliver's restaurant on Catherine Street, colloquially known as JO, has become a go-to for Sunday roasts and pre-theatre dining, but the terrace out on the street is what brings this eatery to life in the summertime. Covent Garden is a hotspot for post-work catch-ups, celebratory occasions and relaxed afternoons alike. When five o'clock hits and the sun takes on a different kind of warmth, heading to Catherine Street and settling in at the JO terrace is a great move.

At the moment there's a dedicated spritz menu with all drinks priced at £8, featuring Aperol, Campari, elderflower and sarti spritzes. The sarti spritz is a stand-out choice for its attractive pale pink colour. It's made with Italian aperitif Sarti Rosa and then the rest of the usual spritz suspects, i.e. soda water and fizz. It's refreshing, light and an easy favourite for anyone who likes their cocktails camera-ready.

Steak tartare with a focaccia crisp

To accompany the drinks, nibbles are a necessity. We'd recommend the peas and British stracciatella on toast and olives on ice to kick things off. For something more substantial, order the steak tartare and prawn cocktail and make this a decadent sharing plates moment.
